Overview: Level 1 Inpatient Coders - Multiple Openings!
Position: Level 1 Inpatient Coders *remote*
Systems: Epic, 3M
Job Details
- Setting: Remote
- Hourly Rate: $33-$37
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: 52 weeks
- Shift: 8 Hour Days | 40 hours per week
Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality inpatient coding for various specialties, including Obstetrics/Newborn (OB/NB), Transplants, all surgical specialties, and cases with extended medical stays.
- Provide accurate coding and ensure compliance with regulatory and payer-specific requirements using Epic and 3M.
- Collaborate with clinical teams and other departments to address and resolve coding discrepancies, ensuring correct DRG assignment.
- Maintain productivity and quality standards in line with Beth Israel Lahey Health’s expectations. 1.5/2 charts per hour
Qualifications:
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) OR equivalent coding certification required.
- Minimum of 3 years of recent inpatient coding experience, ideally in OB/NB, Transplants, and high-complexity surgical coding.
- Proficient in Epic and 3M with a strong understanding of inpatient coding guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to handle complex medical cases independently.
