Join our healthcare team as a Remote Inpatient Coder, where you will play a crucial role in accurately coding and abstracting complex hospital services and inpatient procedures. Job Details
- Employment Type: Permanent
- Work Location: Remote (Work from Home)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Shift Duration: 8 Hour Days
- Start Date: February 7, 2025
- Salary: $60,000 - 97,000 annually
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in inpatient coding
- Required certifications: RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CIC
- Proficiency in ICD-9-CM, ICD-10, and coding principles
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Windows-style applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Accurately assign ICD-10 codes within established guidelines
- Review medical documentation to ensure data integrity of coded patient records
- Act as a resource for researching patient accounts and resolving errors
- Collaborate with the Clinical Documentation Improvement team to ensure accurate DRG assignment
- Meet departmental productivity and accuracy standards
- Verify correct discharge disposition based on medical documentation
